About our speakers:

William “Billy” Murphy has long been an active advocate of civil rights-related cases, first gaining attention as a criminal defense lawyer by drawing attention to the history of injustice toward African Americans. He served as a judge for Baltimore’s Circuit Court, and later founded Murphy, Falcon, & Murphy, Most recently, he has represented the family of Freddie Gray, who suffered a deadly spinal cord injury while in police custody.

Christina Bostick founded Bostick Law Office to minimize the mistreatment felt by working-class individuals in lawsuits served unjustly by large law firms. She is currently providing legal counsel for the family of Henrietta Lacks, whose cells were famously used without her consent.
